Our Story
Storywood Inclusive Arts is a non-profit company specialising in devising theatre for audiences with complex needs who find regular theatre attendance challenging. This can be due to issues with, not only physical, but also neurological and cognitive challenges.
It aims to bring safe, and often immersive arts experiences to such audiences. Such presentations are often in the form of immersive, sensory experiences and draw on our training and experience in creating theatre for non-verbal and verbal audiences alike.
It has, in the past, created performances for audiences presenting with a range of challenges including ASD, PMLD, cerebral palsy, and a range of cognitive and physical challenges.
Since 2019, it has brought close on a hundred theatre experiences to schools and institutions during outreach tours.
In addition to productions, we run workshops in sensory play and sensory theatre-making and act as consultant to other theatre-makers who wish to create their own work.
